I've been struggling for a while to figure out how I've been struggling for a while to figure out how best to support BIPOC with what I do. Unfortunately I live and work in a world that is very much white, in my entire career as an action sports photographer shooting skiing, snowboarding, BMX, and MTB I've only ever dealt with a small handful of athletes that weren't white. It's not that I haven't wanted to work with non-white athletes, probably just that these sports cost more money to participate in (BMX aside, although even that can be prohibitive) and therefore they're predominantly white sports. White privilege has allowed us greater access to outdoor adventure sports and activities, so that's who I've worked with. I'd love to help change that. I do have a few restrictions with my job at @deitycomponents, I can't really shoot photos of athletes sponsored by our competitors, however I'd love to help any BIPOC cyclists or other athletes out with photos. Anything to use my skills to help you market and promote yourself as an athlete. Hit me up in a DM if you're interested. I'm based in Boise Idaho, and travel to NW Washington occasionally. We were shooting in the LA area for Highways with @portermtb and a few others and Erik was showing us around Santa Clarita. This fullpipe was being installed in the middle of I5 near 6 flags. Another old BMX shot. I actually have no idea when Another old BMX shot. I actually have no idea when this was taken, but probably 2004. This is @dberrecloth at a spot in Simi Valley, there's another rider in the ditch in the background, but no idea who it is. Crazy how some of my memories are just entirely missing from my Lyme infected brain. I've shot at this spot a few different times, both in this ditch and also at some nearby dirt jumps. I spent a bit of time this weekend scanning old sl I spent a bit of time this weekend scanning old slides with my camera, a macro lens, and my light table. A proper copy stand would be a really nice addition for high end scans, but for insta the current setup works fine. I haven't posted any BMX shots in a long while, haven't taken any in even longer.
